Parents meet monthly for a savings and loan group where we also encourage them to start home-based businesses to increase their income. The parents have a formed a Prayer Circle which helps build unity and connectedness. Some parents are themselves illiterate or semi-literate and are nervous about meeting their children’s teachers or attending school clinics. We undertake training with them to help them find ways to engage with their children’s progress and be a source of encouragement to them.
