Having brought up in rural areas of Kabula ward, Bungoma County. Our founder Wilfred Wanjala Kusienya after completing High school, he joined the catholic missionaries to be a Roman Catholic brother under the little brothers of the Gospel and Christian brothers(Edmund rice brothers). After a long discernment about his vocation he left little brothers of the Gospel in 2011.The little brothers of the Gospel assisted him to study a Diploma Course in Social work and later joined Mount Kenya University to study Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies and in 2016 he joined Kenya Technical teachers college to study Advanced Diploma in Education.

He is currently working as a college trainer at Nairobi Technical training institute and is passionate about education, economic empowerment and believes in a family approach and community approach as a way of solving children social issues and building partnership through established network.

Reason behind the dream of starting a the community project is to eradicate poverty through education whereby I saw a number of kids roaming in the streets of Mathare north area 1 without proper care and supervision from the guardians/Parents, so I decided to approach the group that had started the feeding program and they agreed my input into the program but they didn’t have ways of sustaining the program because the center was being runned by the community as a feeding Centre. After consultation from friends and observing the kids who were coming to the Centre for feeding and going back to the community, we decided to come up with an education Centre where the kids will be able to access education and that is how Baraka Care Children’s Foundation came into existence and focusing on its operations at Mathare north ward, Nairobi County.
